Itinerary 2

Counter-Reformation in Rome: the papal regime

In the itinerary I have chosen for you, we will retrace the most discussed places of the Counter-Reformation: from the Jewish ghetto, where the Jews were locked up, to the place of public executions, Campo dei fiori. We will cross the famous piazza Navona where feasts and festivals where organized to distract Roman people, to continue with the two churches of the Jesuit power of the time: the church of Gesù and the church of St. Ignazio di Loyola, to end in via del Corso. On request, we may visit, an example of a Counter-Reformation palace and its collection, the Palace Doria-Pamphilj

The tour lasts three hours, four hours with the Palace.
